CAREER EXPLORATION

STEM Careers:       Fly Into The Future

This summer, Upward Bound partnered with Dr. Javaid Syed of Salem University and The Thrasher Group to explore the STEM field with a focus on drone technology.  During the two-part program, students learned about the physics and technology involved in drones as well as their applications.  Thanks to engineers from Thrasher, they checked out some high-tech drones and even flew some of them.  They toured Thrasher headquarters and hear about career opportunities from professionals in Safety, Surveying, GIS, Engineering, Environmental, Utilities & Construction.  They also receive advice on continuing their education from the Training & Staff Development Manager, as well as tips on resumes, interviews, and the job application process from the Director of Human Resources.  Check out some of the media coverage of this year's program below.
