UB SUMMER 2024 [WEEK 3]

⛏️💎 We've returned from the mines with some better gear to face the greater dangers that await us! This week was a short one but it was still one that the students thoroughly enjoyed. Let's fill you guys in on what we've been up to in such a short amount of time. 💎⛏️

Day One: The students would start the week out by continuing their projects and sharpening their knowledge after a warm breakfast to welcome them back. Monday's evening activity was a creative, engaging painting experience with Sip N Dip Painting Parties. Though students were given the same scene to paint, many took creative liberties and added their own personal flair to their canvases.

Day Two: Though the week was already nearly over, the students made the most of their second day on campus this week. In the evening, there would be a dance. Students were given an hour to prepare in case they wanted to dress up. The dance was full of vibrant colors, friendly attitudes, and music!

Day Three: This morning started with a trip to Statler College of Engineering at WVU for the seniors. While there, they were educated on the various engineering opportunities at WVU and what they could expect if they chose to pursue one of the many undergraduate majors offered there. Later, they would work in groups of 3 to construct a tower out of 15 straws and tape with the goal of holding a ping pong ball, alongside who could make the tallest structure. At the end of their trip, they got to construct their own personal wooden PRT shuttles that they would get to take home with them. The seniors would then join the underclassmen for afternoon classes and job shadowing before everyone would head back to the dorms and wrap things up for the week. We're off to the nether throughout this extended weekend to combat the wither! Next week we'll be preparing for an even more dangerous quest.
