What's up everyone! Welcome to week 4 of the summer session! We have a ton of fun stuff to do this week, so I won't waste much time here. But really quick I wanted to thank everyone who makes this program possible. It's been a great time here the past few weeks. From the UB staff to our SA's, even to those who have been through the program and advocate for it. Thank you.

Let's get into it!

Monday 7/7

DID SOMEONE SAY SPIRIT WEEK??? No? Well.. Too bad. Cause it's spirit week! And Monday's theme is Marvel Monday! We had to dress in clothes with marvel character or even fully dress as them!

Monday was a great day. After weeks of it getting canceled due to weather, we FINALLY got to go swimming! That water was a little warm but felt so nice after a long, hot day. Honestly, just getting to finally go to the pool in general felt so nice. I was ready to throw hands with mother nature if it rained on our pool day again (I'm not a violent person I promise).

Splashzone was the pool of choice. With slides, a lazy river, and multiple pools, we were never bored. We also got the option to go play on their golf course if we wanted. I'm a big swimmer so I just stayed in the water the whole time and played mermaids with my friends (My tail was lime green if you were wondering).

Tuesday 7/8

Another day, a different spirit week prompt! Tuesdays was Twin Tuesday! Find a twin and match some outfits!

Tuesday night, we got to learn about various colleges as well as some pre-college things to get done. Fairmont State, Pierpont, Wesleyan, and Berea came down and talked with us. We greatly appreciate them traveling down to speak with us! It was a very informative experience that had its funny moments.

Unfortunately, we do not have any photos from the presentations. :(

TURNS OUT I LIED. There are some they were just buried, and google photos wasn't showing me them originally... Google photos can be a little challenging to work with sometimes...

Wednesday 7/9

Wednesday was Dress like staff day for spirit week! Dress as our SA's, our counselor, or the Upward Bound staff! There were many Tim's around that day... and so many Shayla's... It was so fun seeing people dressed as our staff cause everyone pulled it off so well!

If you watch the week 3 blog/video, then you already know what our evening activity was today... We went to Retro Skate! It was so much fun getting to go out there. I love skating so much, but haven't went since Skateworld close (Rest In Piece), so although I had to relearn how to roller skate, I had a blast and I'm more than sure other people did too!

Thursday 7/10

Throwback Thursday is here! We had some awesome outfits out there today from throughout the decades.

Thursday's evening activity had us getting out there in the warm sun and helping our community down at Fort New Salem. Community service sounds boring. I wasn't excited for it at all originally, but I had a good bit of fun in reality. I'm not entirely sure what all they had us do, but I helped pain benches and tables as well as put up QR codes on the some of the houses.

Afterward, the other volunteers gave us ice cream!!!

Friday 7/11

Now normally, we don't have Fridays on here because there's no evening activity, but this week we have one photo to share for spirit week. College Friday!
